We're only the C-T-A!!!
Aug. 4th, 2006 11:04 amWell, I knew it was too good to be true.
Last night, I left work on my bike and rode up to Logan Boulevard, like I usually do. I saw a CTA bus coming, so I stopped at the north bus stop (the northbound Milwaukee Ave bus stops on the north and south sides of Logan; it's part of the Boulevards system. I don't know if they didn't see me or not, but TWO of them passed me in succession.
I wasn't happy to say the least. Especially since I recognized the second driver, and he's usually pretty good about stopping. Heck, CTA is incredibly good about stopping, they're nowhere NEAR as bad as LA's MTA.
I rode my bike up to the Blue Line station, called the CTA complaint line and sent a Howler, and then took the L up to Jeff Park, where there's a bus station. I got there just as the buses came in. I went to the super's closet and spoke to them, saying that I got passed by two buses, and while I wasn't too pissed off about it, at least it was a decent night (the heat broke yesterday) and it wasn't pouring or the dead of winter. I saw one of them go off and talk to the driver, but I was still annoyed about it.
As I told the super, I expected this treatment from LA bus drivers, not Chicago's.
